What is qigong?
Qigong is an ancient Chinese system of health-preservation practices designed to cleanse, nourish, and renew the body from within. Rooted in thousands of years of observation and wisdom, Qigong teaches us how to engage the natural flow of Qi, the life-force energy, with intention and skill.
When practiced consistently, Qigong becomes a gentle medicine for the entire being. The body grows stronger and more supple, the mind quiets, and the heart settles into peace. Over time, practitioners often experience deepened health, inner harmony, and enhanced longevity; benefits that continue to unfold as the practice becomes part of daily life.
Through a harmonious blend of breathing techniques, mindful awareness, physical postures, and fluid movements, Qigong guides the body back to its innate state of balance.

About Me
I’ve been practicing Qigong for almost 20 years, and it has become a central pillar in my life, cultivating inner strength, fluidity, and deep personal transformation. My journey began with Sifu Ali Blaikie, whose background in Martial Arts, Tai Chi, and spiritual healing arts introduced me to Hun Yuan Gong, Yi Jin Jing, and beginner Chen Style Tai Chi.
In time, my path led me to Gathering Essence in Edinburgh, where I practiced with Tez Sawicki. His multidimensional teachings wove together Daoyin, Qigong, and Biodynamic Meditation, opening new layers of presence and embodiment for me.
More recently, I’ve been drawn to the work of Daisy Lee and completed two certification programs in Radiant Lotus Women’s Qigong through The Shift Network (2023–2025). Daisy’s teachings carry the wisdom of time-honoured lineages and are lovingly crafted to support healing, balance, and empowerment for women.
I’m deeply grateful to all of my teachers, and to the many others who have helped expand my awareness and inner strength over the years.
Today, I’m inspired to share a synthesis of these beautiful forms and traditions, both in person and online. I’ve named my approach Numinous Flow to reflect the subtle, mysterious intelligence we meet when we enter the flow of practice; an intelligence beyond thought that gently opens pathways toward renewed energy, harmony, and joy.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of Qigong?
Many people experience:
• increased vitality and clearer energy flow
• improved balance, flexibility, and posture
• reduced stress and emotional tension
• greater sense of calm and equilibrium
• enhanced resilience and internal harmony
Benefits tend to accumulate gently over time, becoming part of everyday life.
Who is Qigong for?
Qigong is for anyone seeking more balance, vitality, and ease in their life. It’s suitable for all ages and all levels of experience – whether you’re completely new, returning to movement after a break, or looking to deepen your mind–body connection. The practice adapts to you, not the other way around.
Can I practice if I have limited mobility?
Absolutely. Qigong is inherently adaptable. Movements can be done standing or seated, and can be modified to accommodate injuries, chronic conditions, fatigue, or reduced mobility. Many students find that a steady, gentle practice actually supports rehabilitation and improves functional movement over time.
Do I need any special equipment?
No special equipment is needed. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in.
A chair can be helpful either for seated practice or simply for balance and support when needed. Otherwise, you’re welcome to bring only yourself and an open mind.
What should I expect in my first class?
Expect a calm, welcoming pace. You’ll be guided through simple movements and breathing practices, with space to rest, pause, or adapt as needed. There is no pressure to get anything “right”, Qigong unfolds naturally as you become familiar with the sensations and rhythms of your own body.
Is Qigong similar to Tai Chi or yoga?
Qigong shares roots with Tai Chi and shares some intentions with yoga, but it is a distinct practice. Its movements are typically simpler and more intuitive, with an emphasis on internal awareness and energetic flow rather than choreography or physical stretching. Many people find Qigong to be one of the most accessible mind–body practices to begin with.
Develop flexibility, equanimity and a renewed curiosity for the wonder of life.
